May 14, 2019 at 10:47 comment added Robert Columbia It's quite likely that it's simply easier for a native English speaker to learn other Germanic languages due to the similarities in grammar and vocabulary. I would also expect, say, a similar Finnish-speaking savant to more easily learn Hungarian than, say, German or Russian.
